Nurturing growth,
Shaping Futures

Amegreen Children’s Services was founded in 2013 and specialises in therapeutic residential children’s care. We have a community of beautiful homes set in rural West Berkshire where we offer a warm, nurturing to vulnerable children and young people aged 5 to 18.

All our homes are rated “Good” or “Outstanding” by Ofsted and we are proud of the outcomes we achieve with young people. We care for some of the most vulnerable children and young people in society, many with complex needs, and recognise that they need skilled therapeutic support to help them build positive and nurturing relationships. Each home is set spacious surroundings with plenty of space to grow, thrive and learn through play.

Therapeutic Parent Model

In all our homes, our staff members understand how to nurture the children and our aim is to support the children to achieve fulfilling lives. Our staff are trained in a therapeutic parenting model (PACE), which was developed by Dan Hughes. This is embedded to daily life, and we view it as an attitude to parenting more than anything else.

Alternative & Inspirational Education

For children who need a different route into learning, our Alternative Provision works closely alongside this therapeutic approach. The focus is on helping young people re-engage with education through meaningful, practical experiences, small group support and consistent relationships, with wellbeing and learning kept side by side.

Interaction with horses and small animals is part of this day-to-day experience. Caring for animals supports routine, responsibility and confidence, while also creating gentle opportunities to practise patience, empathy and safe connection. Whether it is feeding, cleaning, preparing equipment, or calm, supported handling, these moments can help young people feel capable again and build a positive sense of purpose.

The combination of therapeutic support, structured learning and hands-on animal care helps many young people feel more settled, more engaged and more ready to take their next steps.
